Default 2 days in chinese server open Beta test

i recently know from a friend that china has GW in open beta test( she and me both chinese ) , i went there, and start a PvP char of necro. after a few rounds in RA, i felt sad and happym, how so? i am happy bout that i use SS pwned those tanks in RA really well, but the same time, ifelt sad, there is just wayyyyy too many ppl asking around where can i get better equipments where can i lvl my char up asap, where can i farm money. man, seriousely, this is not bout the GW, GW is a competition game that allows you to brainstorm new builds, to make new stratigy of new GvG build, to teach u how teamwork really matters.

off topic, been playing 19 hours, got mighty hero( yay!! bambi ) and also a req 11 dwarven axe inscriptable from HoH chest, i just wanna ask, are we gonna keep what we get in open beta test, or it will be reseted after the official release?(srry bout my poor english, hope you guys can understand )

Like they did with the other beta tests you will probably lose everything that you gained in the test. They did this to all of them so it is not just the Chinese beta.

I don't really understand your problem. Are you saying you find it annoying that people are asking about PvE stuff while you are in a PvP Arena? Or are you having trouble believing that people actually enjoy the PvE content of Guild Wars?

no, it is not about pve or pvp, he meant that those ppl in the chinese beta test are much more interested in fastest possible level grinding, best and most expensive equipments and most profitable farming methods, it is not what GW is all about, in fact it is what GW is trying to avoid and discourage.

Your questions do not hold a humble intent, my friend.

you also might find the Ascend of Heroes a tiny bit more difficult should the Chinese be thrown into the global tournament after the beta.

I'm curious whether the Chinese players will join the global community or if they live in their own parallel world apart from the rest.

You've just described what happened during Prophecies's (and the whole GW at that) WPE and every single BWE. Congrats.

@undeadgun - what Calcheelma is saying is that players new to GW are used to the usual RPG or MMORPG games where levels and equipment are of importance. They will need to learn the differences in GW.

We still see posts in the Q&A forum asking about leveling, strongest profession and uber equipment. Everyone who is new to the game is confused by the different gameplay.

And its exact mirror would happen for ex-GW comming to grind mmo:

(What do you mean ... two months of itnesive gameplay to reach playable level)

(where the hell is map travel, i dont want to walk ...)

(only 20 skills? how do i get more varied skills?)

(is there a cheap way for max equipment? it not like i can farm epics ...)

(hmm... how do i substract attribute points from X line? ... oh i cant, so i have to redo character fom start?)

(do i have to group with inept players for everything or are there some npcs avaiable?)

...

brr, changing from GW to another game would painfull ...

Chinese people trying to find out where to farm money? Never...I wouldn't imagine it.

(Satire based around China cornering most Gold-farming markets in other games)

@Zwei2stein - you are correct. I haven't played any other RPG in a year. I think if I started one of my old ones up or tried an MMORPG, I would suffer from game culture shock also.

It would be back to buying arrows and food, resting, etc. No skill, no thinking, just keep leveling up - sounds boring now.

@OP - this is a beta, so give people time to get used to the different mindset required. They will catch on and then, hopefully, learn to love the differences.

So I believe the strict laws from China mean that Chinese PvP/GvG will be totally seperate. I'm not sure if that means the traders etc will be linked or seperate tho. I guess not.
